A public statement
I have not withdrawn or received money from this fundraiser.
I’m publishing this record because an October 9 discussion on r/Boise included allegations that I had taken donations and had done nothing to move the campaign’s charitable contingency forward. Donors and other readers deserve the financial record and the dates of the work already underway.
On October 4, I sent four separate inquiries to prospective charitable recipients. I asked about eligibility, keeping any eventual gift directed toward Idaho, source-of-funds documentation, gift restrictions, and public accounting. I asked whether they could accept funds from this campaign and what requirements would apply.
I received substantive replies on October 5 and October 8. On October 8, I agreed to continue one of those discussions later in the month. That outreach and those replies predated the October 9 discussion. The dated correspondence is included below with recipient and staff identities withheld.
Those conversations concerned the campaign’s published contingency: if the acquisition ultimately cannot be completed, remaining funds after documented costs of a good-faith acquisition attempt would support LGBTQ+, civil-rights, and human-rights work in Idaho. They were inquiries into how to carry out that commitment; no final recipient, payment route, or distribution had been agreed. The contingency is tied to the acquisition outcome, not to a month passing without a new donation.
On October 12, GoFundMe reviewed the fundraiser account and confirmed in writing that no transfer has been initiated and the total amount paid out is $0.00. It reported an outstanding balance of $8,919.08. The separate $50 donor refund is a return to a donor, not a payment to me.
This page brings the earlier outreach, the account confirmation, and the supporting records together. The public correspondence uses clearly marked redactions for private names, contact details, and identifying details of proposed payment and reporting arrangements. The dates, substantive questions, conditions, and replies remain, including one organization’s refusal to accept the proposed funding source. These discussions did not make any organization a campaign partner or an agreed beneficiary.

Four inquiries sent
At 1:42, 1:44, 1:45, and 1:59 a.m., I emailed four prospective recipients about a possible charitable distribution if the acquisition contingency became necessary. The questions covered gift acceptance, Idaho restrictions, documentation, and transparent accounting.

A recipient explained its requirements
At 12:40 p.m., one organization replied that it could accept gifts from an individual, business, or foundation, but could not accept the proposed funding source. The source’s identifying details and organizational type are redacted in the correspondence; the refusal remains visible. This was a concrete eligibility issue to resolve before choosing a payment route.

A further conversation was proposed
At 3:01 p.m., another organization replied about possible gift arrangements and proposed a further conversation later in October. At 7:51 p.m., I replied that following up later in October worked for me.
Source: incoming reply R2 and my sent follow-up F1. No gift was finalized.

The public allegations were documented
The r/Boise discussion alleged that donations had been taken and that no substantive work had followed the fundraiser. At 12:12 p.m., I sent Reddit a report documenting those allegations and the earlier outreach.
Source: the contemporaneous sent report A1 and the preserved discussion record. This identifies the October 9 discussion, not the first criticism of the campaign.

Where the money stands
A dated record as of October 12, 2026.
- Donations raised
- $9,255The amount displayed on the organizer dashboard. This is not the amount paid to an organizer.
- Outstanding balance
- $8,919.08*The balance reported by GoFundMe support. Transfers remained paused. See the processing-fee explanation below.
- Donor refund
- $50.00One refund issued in GoFundMe’s notice dated October 10 in Mountain time. The notice says it will be returned to the donor.
- Payouts to the organizer or another recipient
- $0.00GoFundMe’s written confirmation in response to the request for the fundraiser’s lifetime payout history.
* Why the figures differ: GoFundMe automatically deducts a standard U.S. transaction-processing fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation. That means a $100 donation leaves $96.80 after the standard fee. Processing fees are separate from payouts to an organizer. See GoFundMe’s published pricing and Terms of Service, section 11.
The displayed $9,255 raised and the $8,919.08 outstanding balance differ by $335.92. Support also noted one refused donation and one refunded donation, but did not provide an itemized fee-and-adjustment breakdown. The full difference is therefore not labeled as a verified fee total here. GoFundMe separately confirmed that $0.00 had been paid out.
About this record
What was verified
The zero-payout finding comes from GoFundMe’s written account review. The authenticated dashboard showed paused transfers and incomplete recipient setup, but did not expose an Activity or Breakdown ledger. GoFundMe’s emails separately confirmed an unwithdrawn balance and paused payouts.
The source records are dated October 12, 2026. They establish the financial position at that time; this page is not a live account balance.
