Saloon Stage Community
We’re raising money to buy Old State Saloon and turn it into a gay bar. Drag and dancing after dark. Workshops, art, and community space while the sun’s up.
A Rare Opportunity
The building is in downtown Eagle. The fundraiser is on GoFundMe. The plan is to make this particular address a permanent LGBTQ+ home for the Treasure Valley.

Saloon · Stage · Community
Drinks, drag and dancing at night. Workshops, meetings and markets by day.
A good night out should do some good. Our plan includes recurring support for civil-rights and human-rights work in Idaho. Meet the whole building.

While the sun’s up
The dance floor can take a break. The building can still be useful.
Room for something useful
Workshops, classes, meetings and markets, in a room local groups can actually use. Some community uses free, others at reduced rates.

Historic Eagle, Idaho
The porch, the timber, the downtown address: plenty worth keeping. We want a gay bar with a proper stage, a room for local art, and a daytime life that gives people a reason to come back.
The building has been part of Eagle since 1906. A drugstore, a saloon, and now an opportunity to give the same walls a different story.

A Letter from the OrganizerA good week goes further
We plan to dedicate 2% to 5% of the venue’s weekly proceeds to civil-rights and human-rights work in Idaho.
Before opening, we’ll publish how that percentage is calculated. A strong week at the bar should keep doing good after the lights come up.

National Attention
“Now, the proposed ‘New State Saloon’ would attempt to turn that reputation completely on its head.”
“It’s not a joke at all. When it comes down to it, I’m very serious.”
“This would be quite a transformation.”
Love it. Hate it. Talk about it. You still know the address.
The short answers
The parody is deliberate. So is the fundraiser. We’re raising money to buy Old State Saloon in Eagle, Idaho, and turn it into a gay bar, stage, and daytime community space. This is the website for that future.
No. We’re fundraising for the acquisition. The property purchase, financing, due diligence, licensing, and an operating team come before opening. Where things stand.
Donation buttons take you to Montgomery Kuykendall’s existing GoFundMe. Contributions support acquisition and opening costs. They are donations, not investments: no stock, ownership, repayment rights, profit participation, or other financial interest. Use of funds and campaign terms.
If the purchase cannot be completed, remaining funds after documented costs already incurred in a good-faith attempt to complete the acquisition go to organizations working to expand LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and human rights in Idaho. The campaign names the ACLU of Idaho, Add the Words Idaho, and other Idaho organizations as examples. We’ll publicly account for that outcome; the money will not become personal income or enrich the organizers.
No. This is Montgomery Kuykendall’s independent parody and acquisition fundraiser. The resemblance to Old State’s website is intentional; the project is not affiliated with its owners.
The scenes are generated concept illustrations based on the real property’s architecture. They show our design direction. The letter page uses the original campaign rendering; the posters and postcard were made for this website.
Use the organizer contact on the GoFundMe. Official fundraising and acquisition updates will be posted there too.
